A Star-Spangled Kind of Day
When planning what to do for 4th of July, the things that come to mind are fireworks, barbecues and picnics. Fireworks are synonymous with Fourth of July celebrations. However, a firework related injury is nothing to celebrate. Practicing firework safety can prevent a trip to the emergency room. The safest way to enjoy a fireworks show is to leave the pyrotechnics to the professionals.
The Arizona Celebration of Freedom is held on Saturday, June 29th in downtown Mesa from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is free and there is so much to do at this celebration including music, beer gardens, car and art shows, street performers and fun for the whole family. The fireworks display begins at 9:45 p.m. on the Main Stage.
Since the Celebration of Freedom is held on Saturday, you can enjoy the other traditional aspects of July 4th on the actual holiday. Host a barbecue, go on a picnic or enjoy other outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, swimming or motorcycling.
