Warm Up With This Hot Apple Cider Recipe
A delicious holiday beverage!
The holidays are in full swing! Hot apple cider is perfect for cold winter nights all season long. It’s also festive for the holiday season! This quick, easy, and delicious hot apple cider recipe is sure to warm you up this winter!
Here’s what you’ll need.
6 cups apple cider
1/4 cup real maple syrup
2 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
6 whole allspice berries
1 orange peel, cut into strips
1 lemon peel, cut into strips
Start by adding the wet ingredients to a large saucepan. Stir the maple syrup and apple cider together.
Now it’s time to add all the spices: the cinnamon, cloves, allspice, orange and lemon peels. In order to get a nice flavor without all the mess of spices floating in your cider, place all the spices in a cheesecloth and tie it with kitchen string before you put it in the saucepan. But be sure to wash the cheesecloth before you use it! Put the spice bag into the saucepan.
Don’t boil the cider, but heat over a moderate flame for about 10 minutes. Remove the spice bag and serve. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy with your favorite holiday treats!
