Happy 4th From Brewer-Lloyd Insurance Group!

4th of July is a day away, which means cookouts, BBQ parties, picnics, and more! Mix it up, and try some of these festive 4th of July dishes!

Red, White & Blue Stained Glass Jell-O Stars

These beautiful treats will be pleasing to the eyes as well as the mouth! For this recipe you will need to grab 4 boxes of Jell-O in different patriotic colors, a 14-ounce can of sweetened, condensed milk, 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin, and some water. For each flavor you choose, you will need to dissolve one box into 1 cup of boiling water. Then you will pour the mixture into a square container. Make sure the container is at least 6 inches tall, and then let it chill overnight. The next day, cut into small cube-shaped pieces, and mix all of the blocks together in a 9×13 inch dish. Now it is time to use the unflavored gelatin! Use 2 envelopes and pour into ½ a cup of water (not boiling). You will notice the mixture start to bloom. When this happens add 1.5 cups of boiling water until it dissolves. Add your condensed, sweetened milk, then stir and let cool. Add the milk over the multi colored Jell-O blocks and let it chill overnight in the refrigerator! Lastly, use star-shaped cookie cutters to cut out individual pieces. Voila!

Celebration Pretzel Sticks

If you would like a faster holiday snack, give these a try! Head over to your local grocery store, and purchase a bag of pretzel rods, white candy melts, and patriotic sprinkles! Use a piece of wax paper over a cookie sheet to melt the candies. Then put the wax paper in a small bowl, and dip each individual pretzel rod into the mix. Right after, sprinkle on the sprinkles! Don’t wait too long, or your sprinkles won’t stick. That’s it! Let the pretzels cool on a fresh piece of wax paper for an hour, and enjoy!

Brewer-Lloyd Insurance Group would like to wish you a safe and happy 4th of July!
